To reincarnate, or not to reincarnate - that is the question
Reincarnation is the philosophical or religious concept that the non-physical essence of a living being begins a new life in a different physical form or body after the biological death.
The concept of this cycle of birth and death derives from India around the middle of the 1st millennium BCE. The first textual references to the idea of reincarnation appear in Sanskrit texts of the late Vedic period around 1000 BCE.
Moving on in time the writings of Plato and Pythagoras suggest they also believed in the concept of reincarnation, making the concept of easter traditions westernised.
Celtic Paganism, Germanic Paganism, Judaism, Taoism all have a concept and a name for reincarnation. However, with the rise of early Christianity the concept dissipated and a new conception of a judgemental God deciding who travels to heaven or hell appeared.
Because of my willingness to bring logic to these mysterious concepts, I want to share with my readers first and foremost that to me a concept of hell makes absolutely no sense in the natural world. In my opinion, normal circumstances will never allow for devolution. We didn't come from hell, so we can't go back. There is no evidence in nature that we can go backwards, on the contrary, there is only evidence of an always expanding universe. With all the knowledge we have gained throughout our lifetime, it is not a possibility to go backwards and unlearn. Just think of learning to ride a bike, or learning to read.
“Our souls existed before we were born and continue to exist after we die. And the process of being reborn continues over and over as our souls evolve spiritually."
Although it is a harsh concept to grasp, even if you were a disservice to humanity, you won’t go to hell. This notion is merely a distraction of our ego in proportion to our merit, otherwise what would be the point of being nice to your neighbour if in the end, we are all just going to die.
From accounts of near-death experiences, a light tunnel opens when we are ready to die. My talks with many palliative care nurses confirm the visons of deceased loved ones coming to greet the fading life. But we don’t know much after that, so all the concepts that we believe come after death are just that: our belief.
We already know that energy never dies, it transforms and recycles. I wish I had enough space to write all the quantum physics behind it, but it is my belief that whatever your conditionings are around death they shall be granted, at least until you give up to those limiting beliefs and open up to new possibilities.
I hope with this article I've been able open up your thinking and allowed some exploration into this subject and perhaps even challenged your beliefs.
If anything is possible, what would you want it to be?
